Learn Tutu making, Melbourne, Sydney, Las Vegas 2013

Suzanne Dieckmann made this stunning Sugarplum Fairy tutu for Yoomi Lee of the Las Vegas Ballet Company. Come to one of our seminars to learn from Suzanne personally.

Classical tutu classes in Melbourne

Due to a last minute cancellation, we have an opening in the Melbourne Seminar to learn to make a traditional bodice, basque and tutu. The course runs over five days and covers all aspects of making, fitting and designing a professional standard tutu.

"For those attending the seminar: You'll find that my main focus is on "what you need to know": altering patterns easily, fitting/shaping, designing for the stage ....constructions methods and tips. Much of this will result in more efficient use of your time, with BETTER results, keeping your clients needs in mind. Decorating is fun, BUT with the knowledge to build and fit a tutu well, you'll have tutus that dancers will love, will flatter them, show off their body lines AND will look good on stage"

Ballet tiara classes in Sydney

We have added a tiara class to our  Sydney Seminar. It runs over two nights and is $150 with all materials included. Email Suzanne to sign up.

Embellishment classes in Sydney and Melbourne

I think Melbourne is full, but still spots available in Sydney to learn how to do this!!

More classes available in Sydney and Melbourne!!

We are offering two more classes in Sydney and one in Melbourne

"TUTU TACKING FORM" CLASS: $75 (evening 6pm Wed 13 Feb in Melbourne, Mon 25 Feb in Sydney) includes everything (even pre-made "body") but the stuffing! You'll need to bring approx 400 gr of siliconised stuffing.
We WILL be using these in the CLASSICAL TUTU CLASS for tacking. Will have some to sell, limited amounts!

These are perfect for the tutu builder! Get perfect angles while tacking, steaming, they also turn upside down for working underneath. Plus makes it easy to work on plates and embellishing! Classes will be both in Melbourne and Sydney, in the evening, before the classical tutu class gets to tacking, so you can use them then.

TIARA CLASS IN SYDNEY

Dani Legge will be teaching "tiara's" in Sydney! 21 and 22 February , in the evenings. Class goes for both evenings.  $150 (all supplies included)

Both classes only available to those registered for seminar~

Guest teacher David Hansen

Theatrical milliner David Hansen has been making headwear for over 16 years. In that time he has made hats, headdresses, jewellery and costumes for the Australian Ballet, Royal Ballet, Royal Opera, Opera Australia and the Imperial Ice Stars.
David is currently the Wardrobe Supervisor at Arts Centre Melbourne - the largest theatre complex in Australia - and works closely with the Australian Ballet when they perform.
David has also worked extensively as a Head of Backstage Wardrobe on productions including La Boheme, Love in the Age of Therapy, La Traviata (Oz Opera) My Fair Lady, A Little Night Music, the Mikado, the Merry Widow (Opera Australia) and Il Trovatore (Macau International Music Festival). In April last year, David managed the backstage wardrobe on Opera Australia's production of La Traviata on Sydney Harbour, performed outside on a floating stage with a nine metre tall chandelier!
In his spare time David builds tutus, and with his exposure to only the best, and knowledge of working with them, they are amazing.

Guest teacher Dani Legge

Guest teacher Dani Legge: Dani started sewing tutus over 18 years ago when her eldest daughter was given a classical solo to perform at an eisteddfod. Soon she became totally fascinated with the world of tutus! Her background as a sculptress lends to her eye for line, color and detail. She has brought "stretch tutus" from the realm of "recital wear" to "professional" in Australia and now in the United States. We are lucky to have Dani travel to Las Vegas each year to teach at "Tutus that Dance" seminars. This year we are also heading over to her world to teach. Her tutus have been worn at many Eisteddfods, festivals and now being made and worn at YAGP competitions in the United States.
